Dishwasher Types

Service for everyday and premium kitchens

We diagnose built-in, front-control, top-control, panel-ready, drawer, compact and portable dishwashers. Model design matters because pumps, sensors, filters and control systems vary by brand and series.

Built-in dishwashers

Standard 24-inch and compact 18-inch models installed under the counter.

Panel-ready and drawer units

Integrated designs, single drawers and double-drawer dishwashers.

Premium dishwashers

Advanced drying, water-softening, sensor and quiet-operation systems.

Common problems

What can go wrong

The symptom is a starting point. A correct diagnosis checks the water path, electrical controls, installation and mechanical parts before recommending a repair.

Not draining

Possible causes include a blocked filter or hose, disposer connection, drain pump, check valve or control issue.

Leaking water

Door gaskets, hoses, inlet valves, spray arms, pumps, excess suds and tub seals can all create leaks.

Not cleaning well

Restricted spray arms, a dirty filter, low water level, weak circulation, detergent or heating problems may reduce cleaning.

Not filling

Check that the home water valve is open. The inlet valve, float, sensor, wiring or control may also be involved.

Not drying

Heating, vent, fan, rinse-aid, thermistor or control problems can leave dishes wet.

Will not start

A door latch, switch, control lock, user interface, power supply or main control can prevent operation.

Stops mid-cycle

Door-switch interruption, overheating, drainage, circulation, sensor or electronic faults may stop a cycle.

Unusual noise

Debris near a pump, a damaged spray arm, weak circulation motor or installation contact can cause new sounds.

Odor or standing water

Food debris, a restricted filter, slow drainage or incorrect hose routing may allow odors to return.

Diagnosis

Parts commonly involved

  • Drain pump and drain hose
  • Circulation pump and motor
  • Water inlet valve and float switch
  • Door latch and door switch
  • Heating element and thermistor
  • Filters and spray arms
  • Main control board
  • User interface and touch controls
  • Detergent dispenser
  • Door gasket and internal seals
  • Vent and drying fan
  • Turbidity and water-level sensors
Safety first: Stop the dishwasher if it is leaking onto the floor, smells burned, repeatedly trips a breaker or has damaged wiring. Do not reach into standing water until power is disconnected; broken glass may be hidden near the filter or pump.

Questions

Dishwasher repair FAQ

Is my dishwasher worth repairing?

Age, overall condition, part availability and the repair estimate all matter. We diagnose the failure and explain the practical options before work begins.

Why is water left at the bottom?

A small amount in the sump can be normal, but visible standing water may point to a filter, hose, disposer, pump, check-valve or control problem.

Why are my dishes still dirty?

Restricted spray arms, a clogged filter, low water level, weak circulation, detergent, loading or heating issues are common possibilities.

Why is the dishwasher not drying?

The cause may involve rinse aid, cycle selection, heating, venting, a drying fan, temperature sensing or the control system.

What should I send before the appointment?

The brand, complete model number, error code, a short symptom description and a photo or video can help prepare for diagnosis.

Do you work on premium brands?

Yes, we service many premium and luxury dishwasher brands. Call with the model number to confirm service and parts availability.
